US Tax Tools is for general educational guidance only. Nothing on this site is tax, legal, accounting, immigration, customs, benefits, insurance, or investment advice.

Estimates are not returns

Calculator results are simplified models. They may ignore locality taxes, school district levies, employer-specific benefits, community-property allocation, treaty positions, or mid-year law changes. A green “verified” badge means the engine’s constants were checked against cited sources for the labeled tax year — not that your personal return is correct.

Sources and timing

We cite IRS revenue procedures, SSA publications, CMS guidance, Treasury/CBP materials, and state agency pages where practical. Figures can be superseded. Always confirm the effective date on the official source before you file or import goods.

Credits and benefits

Tools such as the EV credit checker, SNAP estimator, and ACA premium tax credit helper illustrate statutory gates and schedules. Eligibility often depends on facts we cannot verify (VIN, MSRP, state SNAP options, Marketplace plan IDs). Do not treat a web estimate as an approval letter.

Professional advice

Consult a CPA, enrolled agent, tax attorney, customs broker, or benefits counselor for decisions that affect filing positions, penalties, or large transactions.
